Among the Agency
regulated community, there have been efforts taken by many businesses and
individuals to effect air emission reductions. Frequently such efforts are
taken without the threat of enforcement and are efforts which go beyond
minimum compliance to reduce air emissions. This program recognizes such
efforts to provide incentive to continue emission reduction efforts and to
encourage others to take similarly effective actions. Also, for very small
businesses, the Agency could apply a one-time waiver of registration or
permit fees as an additional incentive for recognition recipients.
The program includes the
following:

On an annual basis, the Agency would advertise a
request for nominations in each of the following categories:

The Agency would solicit nominations from:

Nominations would be evaluated by the Executive
Director and Division Supervisors for consideration and selection according
to the following criteria:

Specific actions were taken or caused to be taken
which resulted in measurable air emission reductions;

The resulting emission reductions are sustainable;
-
The actions were voluntary and not prompted by threat
of enforcement.
4.
Selected nominees would be proposed to the Board of
Directors for approval; and
5.
Approved nominees would be presented a recognition
trophy and certificate of recognition and appreciation at a regular meeting
of the board of Directors.
